Hi there! I am really new to Rayyan, so I need your help (experts!)
I have first trialled the program with a total of 2500 references, however, when I did try add the entire search result (over 8000 references in file format bib or ris) it did not allow me to upload the search. It came out in red and with a strikethrough.
I was just wondering if anyone knows if there is a file-size limit (mine is around 115 MB) or if there is any other problems that I am not aware of?!

Please let me know! I am already struggling enough as it is with my first proper lit review!!! Thank you all and good luck with your work!

Hi,

The limit is 50MB. Try to compress your file before uploading. Also, make sure it is in one of the formats that Rayyan accepts and which are explained in the upload search page.

Best,

Admin

Hello, my colleague and me tried to export references from endnote to Rayyan in this way (Selecting all references>File>export>save as type: text file (*txt). It gave a file which is only 771KB but when we upload it in Rayyan it gives error and says it's not an acceptable format! Could anyone help please? Thanks!

Hi,

In the upload page, we explain the formats accepted by Rayyan. Coming from EndNote you should select either EndNote export or RIS.

Hello,

there is no RIS when trying to export EndNote X8 files. There is only .txt, .rtf, .htm, or .XML

I too have tried each one and continue to receive the error message. There appears to be a disconnect between the updated EndNote X8 (my team and I use a PC) and Rayyan. Please assist?

Hi,

I don't have access to EndNote X8, but according to https://libguides.nus.edu.sg/c.php?g=145733&p=1433183 you should be able to export to RIS among other formats (or styles). The screenshots are from X7 but I'd expect X8 to not differ much.

Dear Admin,

I also have this issue where the option to save the export as an Endnote Export or a RIS is not available with Endnote X8. Like the user above there is only .txt, .rtf, .htm or.xml file types as options.

I notice that the instructions provided are on a mac. I am using Windows7 enterprise. Is it possible that Windows does now facilitate these file types?

Best wishes.

Hi,

.txt, .rtf., and .htm are not reference formats like RIS or bibtex, these are file formats. As I said we don't have access to all of EndNote versions on all platforms, but I'm sure they'll have a way to export/save to a standard reference format. I'd suggest to contact EndNote support for that.

Best,

Admin

Dear Rayyan User,

Please make sure that the header is the same as the sample file we provide in the upload page.

Hi,

You could try to read the file in a reference manager and then export/save to one of the formats accepted by Rayyan. We noticed that some databases do not always conform to the reference format.

Best,
